The Gujarati Samaj, Inc. invites you to celebrate the vibrant spirit of Navratri at the Navratri Mela 2025, featuring five exciting events across five unique locations in the Portland metro area. From traditional Garba nights to modern Disco Dandiya and special musical performances, this year’s celebration promises something for everyone. Whether you're a lifelong Garba dancer or experiencing Navratri for the first time, come be a part of this colorful and energetic cultural extravaganza. Children under 7 attend free, but advance tickets are required for most events.
The festivities begin with the Navratri Opening Celebration on Saturday, September 6, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Rose City Futsal in Tigard. This opening night will set the tone for the rest of the month, bringing the community together to dance, socialize, and celebrate in traditional style. With upbeat music and a welcoming environment, it’s a perfect evening for all ages to join in.
On Sunday, September 14, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, head to the Oregon Convention Center in Portland for a special night: Rangtaali with Aishwarya Majmudar. Aishwarya, a beloved and talented singer, will lead the night with live vocals that electrify the dance floor. This performance is a major highlight of the Mela and is expected to draw a large crowd, so early ticket purchases are highly recommended.
Next, prepare yourself for a modern twist with Raas-Leela (Disco Dandiya) Night on Saturday, September 20, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Lake Oswego High School. This high-energy event features lively music and a more contemporary Dandiya experience. As a bonus, there’s a Special Kids Night from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, making it an ideal event for families with young children to participate in the festive fun.
The excitement continues with the Navratri Grand Celebration on Saturday, September 27, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the spacious Tualatin Hills Athletic Center in Beaverton. Known as one of the largest events of the season, the Grand Celebration brings together hundreds of community members in a joyous display of dance, food, and cultural pride. It's a can't-miss night that encapsulates the true heart of Navratri.
Finally, the season concludes on a peaceful note with Atham Na Garba on Tuesday, September 30, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at YMCA–Beaverton Hoop. This event is open to all and does not require a ticket, offering a more intimate and spiritual Garba experience. It’s the perfect way to reflect on the month-long celebration and embrace the cultural traditions that bring the community together.
