Teeyan da Mela Recap

Sarbat Oregon’s Teeyan da Mela was a vibrant and joyful celebration that brought the community together in a powerful display of unity, tradition, and sisterhood. Held in honor of the rich cultural tradition of Teeyan - a festival celebrating women, particularly daughters and sisters - the event created a warm and inclusive space for attendees of all ages to gather, dance, and celebrate Punjabi heritage. With colorful décor, traditional music, and lively Giddha performances, the atmosphere was nothing short of electric.

The event showcased an array of talented local vendors, offering everything from handcrafted jewelry and cultural clothing to beauty products and artisan goods, creating a festive marketplace that supported small businesses within the community. A highlight of the day was the captivating lineup of performances, featuring local dance groups, singers, and cultural acts that brought energy and enthusiasm to the stage. Exciting raffle prizes, generously donated by local businesses like Krishna Supermarket and Roop Beauty Salon, added to the thrill, with many lucky attendees going home with fantastic gifts.

No celebration is complete without delicious food, and Desi Bites delivered an incredible spread of authentic Punjabi cuisine that delighted the senses and brought everyone to the table. Sarbat Oregon extends its deepest gratitude to Amarjit Kaur, Gurdeep Kaur, and Sarbjit Kaur Virk for their generous contributions, which played a pivotal role in the event’s success. This unforgettable day was made possible through the dedication of volunteers, the support of local businesses, and the unwavering love of the community.
